AASSWB's services to member boards adapt to particular needs. Usually, these projects are the result of specific requests made by the Delegate Assembly, or in response to anticipated needs of member boards.

This year, the association's model law task force completed the Model State Social Work Practice Act. Approved by the AASSWB Delegate Assembly as a resource document, this model act is available for use by member social work regulatory boards or other interested parties. Download a copy of the model law here, or order a paper copy from the AASSWB national office by clicking here.

In 1998, AASSWB will be focusing attention on issues surrounding telepractice, the examinations and their impact on candidates who use English as a second language (ESL), and the collection of data on examination candidates. Developments in these areas will be published in Association News, and posted on this website.

AASSWB also works to keep its members informed on developments in the professional regulation arena. To this end, the association has been an active participant in the Interprofessional Workgroup on Health Professions Regulation, a group of several health professions regulatory associations that have been working together to address issues and concerns surrounding health care workforce regulation.
